AUGUST 1985 Honorable Louis Farrakhan Completes First Full Hajj & more August Facts


AUGUST 1985: Minister Louis Farrakhan completed his first full Hajj (Pilgrimage) to the Holy City, Mecca in Arabia.

(In 1998, The Minister would make Nation of Islam history as his delegation were provided a police escort inside the Grand Mosque).

This year (1998), for the first time in Nation of Islam history, Min. Farrakhan and those worshipping with him, were given a police escort inside the Grand Mosque during their performance of Umrah, after having been driven in a police motorcade from the Jeddah Conference Palace, where they were guests of His Royal Highness King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, who is Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (at Mecca and Medina). AUGUST 1981: Two highlights of this month was “Warning To The Government” speech at Washington, D.C. Convention Hall and a speech at New York’s 369 Street Armory where 18,000 attended.

AUGUST 3, 1986: Minister Farrakhan spoke on “The Black Man’s Fear” in Chicago, IL.

AUGUST 20, 1989: Minister Farrakhan told about 1,000 federal, state, and local government employees that, “the government for which you work is the number one enemy of the Black man of America and the world,” during the closing sessions of the Blacks In Government (BIG) 11th Annual National Training Conference held in Washington, D.C.
